Tyler was instantaneously amazed by Master Barrett. He’d never faced anyone like him before. Barrett seemed so elaborate and stylish, gorgeously introduced in his expensive suit and stinkin' new and neat in the dirty, summer air. Tyler couldn’t believe the way that Barrett chatted to him. The elderly guy was kind, interested and funny. He made Tyler perceive important; a elation he wasn’t sure he’d ever sensed before. And yet, the more Tyler looked at Barrett, the more bewildered he felt. Questions crammed his head. Why was this gent taking the time to speak to him? Why did he instantaneously perceive so safe in his company? Why did his heart pound so rock-hard when Barrett restrained his gaze? The Fellow Tyler had had a pretty bad embark in life. His problems mostly boiled down to an overwhelming sense that he didn’t fit in. He came from a large family where he always sensed nearly fully invisible, and he found it rock-hard to make mates at school. He acted up a lot, mostly for attention, and when that didn’t work, he simply withdrew from the world.
