This past week, we as a company made a decision that was tough, controversial, and had split opinions on both sides of the issue. Publishing the late Fratmen Raphael’s FratmenTV update is something that we knew we would have to face someday. We kept prodding it off, week by week, month by month and as we embark to close out 2013, we had to determine what we desired to do with Raphael’s shoot: Publish it or toss it in the trash. is a sensitive subject. When it comes to a beautiful youthfull dude like Raphael, it’s an peculiarly rough topic to discuss, but a worthy one for sure. The morning after we were notified of his , we had a company-wide meeting where we discussed how we desired to treat honoring his memory. During that meeting, we received a message from his family that asked us to not do anything right away. We respected his family’s desires and did nothing publicly. Because is a sensitive subject, even however we were honoring his familie’s wishes, we were chastised for how we handled that… to some, it wasn’t enough and it was disrespectful that we still confined Fratpad Friday that week. This week, we knew it was a going to reignite some passionate opinions as we extracted his Fratmen update but for me, I’ve determined that tossing his footage away like he didn’t exist would be just as difficult as deleting his smartphone number from my phone; it’s something I just can’t do. Fratmen Raphael existed. He was here, he was a part of us, and I stand behind our company’s decision to share this beautiful youthfull dude with the world. Raphael is a Fratmen and I’m damn proud of it.
