Harsh Trades is a shot-on-film feature from master director Jerk Deveau, who along with his paramour and collaborator Robert Alvarez (who edited this film) was responsible for some of the greatest gay porno to come out of the 70s. Set in the run down, sex-drenched Fresh York City of the decadent Me Decade, this movie is brief on plot; instead, it offers up a handful of intercourse gigs that are from time to time intercut to very glamour effect. Theres a supreme soundtrack throughout, blaring horns and psychedelic guitar which set the regular for what would come to be known as porno music. And then theres the intercourse - its classic, unbridled 70s man-on-man action, with the men pummeling and sucking with wet quit and catapulting their orifices with everything from knuckles to produce.
